About Tax Deductibility
Serene Spaces Compassionate Fund is a Michigan Nonprofit Corporation registered with the Michigan Attorney General. We plan to apply for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status with the IRS in Spring/Summer 2026.
Important: Until our 501(c)(3) application is approved by the IRS, donations are not tax-deductible. We will provide receipts for all donations and notify donors once 501(c)(3) status is granted.

Labor Costs
Professional estate clearing requires 10-60 hours of labor per project, depending on the size of the home.
Hauling & Disposal
Dump fees, specialty disposal, and transportation costs for donations and disposal.
Supplies
Boxes, packing materials, cleaning supplies, and protective equipment.
Operational Costs
Insurance, administrative costs, and ongoing nonprofit operations.

Yes! Donors receive regular updates (respecting family privacy) on the families served with their support. Founding Donors receive quarterly updates and invitations to special events.
